Notes from November Meeting
Vincent's, Blacksburg, VA
November 2, 1999, 6:30pm

Attendees: Larry & Barbara Martin, John & Joyce Bailey, John Kuykendall, Connie Shealor & Guest, Kim Brown, Roger Huffman, Hunter Matheson, Randal Johnson, Todd Baumgardner, Richard Throlson, Tom Oddo, Gordon Miller, Brad & Darlene Hodge, David Schultz - President of the Mustang Club, Melinda Rose

Roger Huffman, President of BRMC, called the meeting to order at 8pm.
Roger began with the introduction of Gordon Miller who discussed the website development and the potential ahead for easy access to information about BRMC. He plans to show events - past, present and future; links to dealers, Miata sites; Application for the club; logo; classifieds in the future; links to the Miata Ring and YourMiata.com. Gordon's company is G3 Systems, Inc. and website information may be submitted to him for the membership list. The company will scan information, pictures, or may submit via internet directly to the company.

BRMC voted to approve the expenditure of $70 for domain registry for the following website address:
www.blueridgemiataclub.org

David Schultz, President of the Roanoke Valley Mustang Club, was introduced next. He discussed details of their club, including monthly newsletters, car shows advertised online, merchandise, national club, potential for Mustang/Miata show, Valley View show. Judging of these events can include a judges vote or popular vote. Their club has 112 members, 70 cars.

Discussion of dealer contacts, matching of prices. David Duncan at Duncan; David Burton at Berglund will match Roebucks Products. Will determine if we need membership cards to show dealerships. Merchant Tires allows a 10%discount for the Corvette Club, so Tom Oddo will followup for potential relation.

Applications for BRMC were distributed. They will be modified to include liability disclaimer, membership benefits and addition of Melinda's address for return.

Roger introduced the modified logo that was easily reproduced for apparel. An apparel page on the website was discussed and merchandise availability will be provided at a future date. David Schultz indicated they allowed members a reduced rate versus non-members. Window statics are available at Rapid Signs on Williamson Road for $16.

Insurance was discussed once again. Randal was checking with an agent. Discussion about incorporating versus insurance expense occurred.

Discussion about the Deal's Gap in July was discussed, followed by the potential for a BRMC event on the parkway. Volunteers are to inform Larry of interest.
